The Best Hike in Northern Kosciuszko | 3 Days Exploring the Jagungal Wilderness
Chloe, Anne and Anna (Doods) recently spent three days hiking through the Jagungal Wilderness, a bucket list experience for any bushwalking enthusiast. The 40-ish kilometre loop via Round Mountain Trail and Grey Mare Trail, including summiting Mount Jagungal, encompasses everything there is to love about hiking in Australia. This loop has some of the most beautiful historic Kosciuszko high country huts, never-ending views across to Mount Jagungal, rolling hills and deep valleys, plenty of lovely little streams (including the headwaters of the Tumut River) and a mountain peak to bag. Not to mention the wildflowers, birdlife (Wedge-Tailed Eagles!) and the unbeatable feeling of being immersed in a remote wilderness.
Featuring Anne Shanahan, Anna Johnson and Chloe Symons

    Inspiration girls! I did it clockwise some twenty years ago. I thought I had completed my last major walk some two years ago, it was the second time walking the Overland Track, Tasmania, this time with my daughter. The first time was solo. I am now 73 years old, and passed my pack onto my younger daughters' partner. After watching your amazing coverage, I think I will ask for it back. As I said, inspirational!

    • @TomsOutdoors
      @TomsOutdoors 17 днів тому

      Thank you for the kind words! We set off anti-clockwise just in case I didn't make it past the first day... so I wouldn't have too much of a climb back to the car (the team very kindly didn't tell me this reason until after our trip!). At 73 years young maybe you should borrow that pack back, talk about inspirational! - Anne
